-~*~- Details -~*~-
- Scryrs ingest metals (as small pieces such as filings, beads, small natural pieces). They use these metals as fuel to levitate (by pushing and pulling the alloys against minerals in the earth). They do not need to ingest too much and can survive off small amounts daily though the faster they burn off the metals, the sooner they will need more.
- They have short but strong claws on their fingers which they use to scratch against metal to file small shreds from.
- They do not need to eat though they can if they choose to. Some do simply as a luxury to enjoy the tastes and textures.
- Scryrs tend to live in more remote places and are wary of strangers. They tend to travel in the thick of mists, sandstorms, blizzards and the like. Many rumours surround seeing their eyes glowing within them, more commonly associating them with spirits or wraiths.
- Each scryr has an opening in their chest where the same glow as their eyes and mouth emits. These cavities work with part of their process to burn metals - The smaller the opening, the stronger the scryr. The larger, the weaker and the quicker they burn up their ingested metal.
- Their glow is also a result of their burning process. The less fuel they have, or the slower they burn their metal, the weaker the glow is. They tend to burn metal in a flare when they're angry or threatened as a display of current strength.
- Their fin-like features are very silky to touch and are fairly sensitive. Scryrs use these in a similar fashion of dowsing rods to locate metals (they sense very faint vibrations). The scarf-like fins that extend from their shoulder blades are the most sensitive to detecting metal – the longer these are, the better the range. Scryrs cannot move these fins at will though they flare easily in winds.
- Their ability to sense metals is also a decent way of avoidance as a lot of beings tend to carry some form of metal on them (such as a weapon, jewellery or coins).
- Scryrs have small paws as they have adapted to 'flying' more commonly. They do have thick paw pads on the soles though which are sturdy enough to deal with sharp rocks.
- Most scryr have horns that can vary in size and shape. These can also be used to scrape against metal to chip off pieces to eat but are also considered display features.
- Scryr are not commonly a violent species and are more peaceful. Instincts say flight over fight but this isn't always the case.
- They vary in height, more like humans. More commonly they are between 4'5" and 5'5".
- Scryr can only breed with their own species (this doesn't always stop them from pairing with others). They have live births and their young feed off small metal filings, often put in water for them to easily be drank down.
