-~*~- Details -~*~-
Aetheri Cats are a semi-open species, meaning you're free to make one on your own, but you must consult with me first to make sure the traits are acceptable for that type. Obviously primary and secondary types are much more frequent then the others, thus those are the types I will allow others to make.
Aetheri Cats are native to Sanctum and come in a wide variety of physical appearances. Great care has been taken to document the range of types, however some varieties only have a brief description as photographic proof has yet to be secured. Like most of Sanctum, the Aetheri Cats are sentient and often live in prides of 6-10 individuals, although some prefer to remain solitary.
A curious trait of the Aetheri Cat is the ability to breed with any other variety of Aetheri Cat. Usually this results in cubs that match either one of the parent. However, occasionally a new type of Aetheri Cat is born, a combination of both of the parents. An example of this can be seen in the offspring of a Fire Cat and a Water Cat. 80% of the time the offspring will be of the fire or water variety, the other 20% of the time however a Steam Cat may appear.
---
Primary
Fire-
Commonly has some part of their body on fire and leaves small flames where they've stepped. Live in dry climates.
Water-
Sometimes they appear to be dripping water. Usually has fins. Lives near any water source. Bright colored horns are uncommon, but not rare.
Earth- (<-bottom one)
Are most commonly found in caves and mountains. Occasionally has horns and body parts that resemble Cervines.
Air- (<-top one)
All are winged naturally. Resides in and around mountains. Usually have a spade tail.
---
Secondary
Steam-
Fire + Water
Steam is seen to roll off their bodies and rarely one will have a tail made of steam.Prefer to live near geysers and springs.
Lava-
Fire + Earth
Markings are generally yellow or orange and appear as a cracked or spiderweb design. Are able to withstand extreme temperatures and will sometimes live in dormant or active volcanos. Fire is common to see on individuals. Becomes sluggish at lower temperatures
Heat-
Fire + Air
Usually winged these resemble Air Cats with a darker color palette. Produce substantial heat and are known to start fires for being in one place too long. Heat waves can sometimes be seen around them, distorting their image. Because their fire-starting they tend to travel constantly.
Swamp-
Water + Earth
Usually have some sort of weedy grass draped across their form as well as small creatures. Has spines or horns that resemble mangrove roots.
Ice- -none-
Water + Air
Ears are tufted. Opaque spikes line the spine and can be very sharp or soft and rounded but are generally light blue to white in color. Usually has no tail or a stunted one. Has a high tolerance to low temperatures and will avoid excess heat. Lives in tundra and arctic regions.
Sand- (<-middle one)
Air + Earth
Generally have a very long and flexible body. Spines above the brow are common. Tails commonly resemble those of various long-tailed reptiles.

Tertiary
Mineral-
Lava + Water
Once divided into two categories - Rock and Crystal - these Aetheri Cats have since been combined to form the Mineral group. Their colors vary as do the crystals or stone shards that grown from their skin. The crystals never stop growing and old Mineral Cats are completely encased in a mobile suit of armor. It is very rare that the mineral growth should ever hinder their movement from natural growth. However, damage to the crystals can result in abnormal crystal growth. The Cats that resemble crystals often have free-floating crystals suspended around them. Very rarely they may have wings, but as the crystals grow the wings quickly useless due to the Cat's increased weight.
Lightning-
Heat + Air
Fur is seen to spark frequently due to friction. May have horns that electricity arcs between. Long spines are common.
Frost
Ice + Air
Much akin to their Ice counterparts, Frost Cats have a much more ethereal presence. They frequently don antlers seemingly made of ice and a mysterious fog seems accompany them everywhere they go. Ghostly apparitions while uncommon, can be seen weaving in and out of the fog.
Ash-
Fire + Swamp
Is most often seen after a fire, nestled amongst the ashes where is waits for prey to ambush. Lives mostly in dry areas, but may inhabit more volcanic areas as well.

Quaternary
Bone-
Mineral + Other
Markings most often resemble skeletal patterns. Various limbs are covered in a mineral that resembles bone in texture and color but is much lighter without losing its structural integrity. The older an individual is the larger the area the mineral covers and the thicker it gets. Most commonly the mineral casing form around the individuals joints and major points of movement so that the individual can still move freely. Because of their mineral defenses, they are able to withstand high impacts with little to no damage. Lighter than a Mineral Cat, thus faster.
Metal- -none-
Mineral + Lava
An extremely rare type of Cat, the Metal cat is speculated to have a body and limbs made of a living metal. It seems as though the cat has been forged by a master craftsmen with the way each piece slides effortlessly with the cat. An inner glow can be seen and many wonder if these cats can even be considered living in the usual sense.

Other:
In some cases it is nearly impossible to determine what type of Aetheri Cat you're looking at. Traits between cats can become blurred, leading to something that might resemble several types or none at all.
